The Kwara State commissioner for health, Dr. Raji Razaq today empower selected youths of Ekiti local government origin with farm implements and insecticides worth #2m.

Razaq while speaking on the rationale behind the empowerment said “In line with the Gov. Abdulrahman Abdulrahman administration which places premium on getting the youth productively and independently engaged, I saw it expedient to come to the aid youth farmers who were bemoaning the nonavailability of basic farm implements like chemical sprayer among others.

Speaking on behalf of the youth, Com. Busayo David appreciated the Hon. Raji Rasaq for the procurement and distribution of the farm sprayer equipment and chemicals to young farmers.

He also appreciated the Governor for finding the youth worthy of leadership positions from the Commissioner, Assembly member and Assembly  service commission member, the Governor have shown like none before it that indeed the Ekiti LG and I deed Kwara Youth aren’t lazy.

The Olosi of Osi, Oba Saliu Adasofegbe Arowobeku 11, while commending the donor for prioritising empowerment of the youth, stressing that he’s giving them net to fish as against giving them fish which is not sustainable.

He however enjoined the beneficiaries to make utmost use of the equipments, emphasising that the opportunity should be made to reflect and lead to more yield in the coming farming season.
