The Kwara APC Integrity Group have expressed worries over what was described as “Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s attitude of indifference to issues of integrity and moral rectitude as exemplified in the high incidence of infractions by his administration”, which the group said is fast becoming intolerable to the good people of Kwara state, who voted APC to put an end to era of rapacious locust.
The Integrity Group in a statement signed by Comrade Abdul-Rahoof Bello-Làbẹ́làbẹ́, Director, Media & Publicity said “After careful study of the issues in Prof. Adaramaja’s case, it is not yet convinced that he had no case to answer regarding his appointment as SUBEB Chairman. With the available evidence, we noticed some irregularities, dishonesty and abridgement of due diligence in his appointment.
“In the same token, our hands are also tied to hold a brief for the Prof. of Health Education on integrity, in view of the prima facie case of fraudulent practice established against him by his employer, the University of Ilorin.
“The Integrity Group was particularly shocked about the man at the center of the storm – Prof. Abdulkareem Adaramaja. He was alleged to have been involved in unethical behavior, sharp practice and a breach of Code of Conduct in public service, by drawing double salaries from public treasury. Details of the distasteful story was reported by a credible online medium@freshinsightnewstv.com.
“Almost simultaneously, this malfeasance by Gov. AbdulRazaq’s surrogate is going viral with another graft at the Government High School (GHS), Ilorin, where another licensed agent of AbdulRazaq administration was alleged to have inflated a Secondary School renovation contract to the staggering amount of #40m! This is courtesy of ENetSud, another reliable Civil Society Organization”, it added.
The pro-APC group however noted that the current development in the State do not represent the party ideal, it said “For record purposes, it must be made clear to ALL and sundry that this moment cannot define what we are in APC. This is an era of aberration to the ideology and philosophy of APC, as a political party.”
“In deviance to APC manifesto and campaign promises, this administration has not been able to uphold the minimum standard in public morality, accountability and the Rule of Law as articulated in APC manifesto. In terms of governance, Kwarans are yet to see the difference between six and half a dozen, except in some faulty steps to “populist” pretenses.”
“In this regard, we feel constrained to affirm that the credibility rating of this administration in transparency and due diligence, is depreciating by the day with the shady manners by which the State affairs are run like a family business empire. We have never been in this bottomless pit of rapaciousness and impunity in our political trajectory.
“Is it not alarming that an administration led by a taciturn undertaker can always would always keep mum on a case of high profile corruption of #300m monthly withdrawal from LG account, as alleged by a former Commissioner – Ai’sha Pategi?.
“In like manner, could silence be dignified by the same administration that is complicit in this financial crime by a “Senior Prefect” planted at SUBEB? Then, what moral justification has GAA pointing fingers at the past administration?”, the group queried.
“On the balance of probability, therefore, the Integrity Group hereby demand for suspension of Prof. AbdulRaheem Adaramaja forthwith because he has lost moral credibility to be trusted with the commonwealth at SUBEB. The Governor should graciously get him posted as a candidate to the Code of Conduct Tribunal and the EFCC for further interrogation.
“This is what Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq did to the elected LG Council Chairmen after their illegal removal from office, it would be morally wrong for him to condone this under his nose. What is source for the goose is also source for the gander.”
The group added that “The latest infractions at the Kwara State Universal Basic Education (SUBEB), is a manifestation of one scandals and political abomination too many in the life of AbdulRazaq’s administration that patriotic Kwarans are unanimous in condemning.
