Saliu Mustapha Campaign Organization (SAMCO) has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Kwara Central will not dignify his People’s Democratic Party (PDP) counterpart, Bolaji Abdullahii with a response to his second letter.
In a letter signed by the Director of Media and Strategic Communications, of SAMCO, Gidado Shuaib, Mustapha’s team said “We’ve read and perused the latest ‘reply’ of the opposition candidate, Mr. Bolaji Abdullahi.”
He however said “It is the position of our candidate, Mallam Saliu Mustapha that he would no longer dignify the letterman, Mr. Abdullahi, or any other opponent for that matter, with a further reply.
“It should be noted that it is ordinarily not in the character of our candidate, Mallam Saliu Mustapha, the Turaki of Ilorin Emirate, to engage in public brickbats with anyone, but his traducers this time had left him with no other option.
“Our candidate, Mallam Saliu Mustapha has made his points, he would prefer to leave the judgement to the people.
“Moving forward, it is the wish of the Turaki to continue to focus on the engagements with the electorates who look forward passionately to conversations on issues that will elevate their socio-economic wellbeing as citizens”, the statement added.
Saliu Mustapha thanked all well-meaning leaders of thought, community stakeholders, and public-spirited individuals, among others, who showed genuine concern over the incidence, while reiterating that he would continue to be civil and decent in public engagements.
“This is the minimum, irreducible standard we have set for ourselves as a campaign organization, no matter the temptations to do otherwise.
