Students of the Kwara State Polytechnic has charged youth on standing up to solve societal challenges, rather than just sitting in their comfort zone or behind the keypads to lament about the situation.
This call was made in Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin yesterday, during the NAFBELL Iniative sponsored clean and green programme, aimed at sensitising students on cleanliness and ensuring the Campus is kept clean at all times.
According to the convener of the group, Nafeezah Asabe Bello, an HND 11 Students of the Polytechnic from Departments of Science Laboratory Technology (SLT) , she described the initiative as a way of contributing her quota towards ensuring the campus is clean and green at all times, while also sensitising the generality of the Students on why they shouldn’t leave keeping the institution environment clean to the management alone, adding that “Nafbell Initiative is a community of committed youths working together to make our society a better place.
“It was indeed a beautiful and colorful event as the students gave the crew utmost attention. The program was opened by the Deputy Director in absentia of the Director, Directorate Students Services in person of…… The coordinator, Mr Dare Gbenga David headed the opening prayer. The crew moved from the DSS to the institute of Applied Science to sensitized the students and also sanitize the environs.
“While we sensitized the general public, we also asked students about their opinions. There were positive responses and they really did appreciate our efforts.
“As a  student of this great Polytechnic, whose objective is to complement the great work of the management by showing good example to our fellow students on how to contribute their quota to the development of the polytechnic, rather than dilapidating the existing infrastructures, this is one of the ways to imbibe these visions into other students. It is our joint responsibility” she added
