Revised Kwara 2020 budget passes second reading

The Debate on the General Principles of the Kwara State 2020 Revised Appropriation bill commenced today on the floor of Kwara State House of Assembly, Ilorin.

Leading the debate on the bill, House Leader, Honourable Magaji Abubakar-olawoyin said the twenty twenty appropriation bill review became necessary in view of the global coronavorus pandemic which he said had affected revenue projections of the state government.

Some lawmakers in their contributions agreed that the COVID 19 pandemic ravaging the world made the budget review a necessity and commended the state government for putting measures to combat and controlled the dreaded disease.

Our house of assembly Correspondent Dare Akogun reports that The Revised Twenty Twenty Appropriation Bill scale through the second reading, read by the Clerk of the House, Hajia Alimah Jummai Kperogi during today’s plenary.

The Speaker, Honourable Yakubu Danladi-Salihu thereafter referred the twenty twenty Revised Appropriation Budget to the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation for further legislative consideration.

The House adjourned sitting till Monday 27th July.
