Monarchs hail Gbenga Power, as foundation distributes food items for yuletide celebrations

The Elerin of Adanla, Oba (Dr.) David Oladele Adedunmoye and other royal fathers in Ifelodun LG has commended commended Mr. Gbenga Oyekunle popularly known as Power for his usual way of reaching out to people at all levels, as his foundation doles out food items to thousands of people drawn from three local governments of Kwara state.

The food items distributed to people from Ifelodun, Offa and Oyun local governments, under the aegis of Gbenga Power Foundation was held at ECWA Secondary School, Igbaja, Ifelodun local government area of Kwara state.

The Foundation had in recent times, organized empowerment programs to enable average citizens stand out and succeed in their businesses and livelihood.

Speaking at the event earlier today, Elerin of Adanla, HRH, Oba Adedunmoye also advocated for peace and unity among political groups to foster progress and also implored attendees who are yet to obtain their Permanent Voters’ Card (PVC) to do so before the time runs out.

In his welcome address, the Chairman Gbenga Power Foundation, Gbenga Oyekunle, reiterate the importance of uplifting others, as our society host people of different social and economic status. Hence, the need for the privileged to give back to the society.

“For any individual or organization to stay relevant, they must be ready to give back to the society and this is why my empowerment and scholarship interventions have been severally directed to people at the grassroots most, especially the businesswomen, youth, and students.”

The serial community development facilitator disclosed that, his foundation, last year distributed free farm equipments to farmers, paid school fees, rendered health assistance among others.

“We have been reaching out to the people through Gbenga Power Foundation for over a decade before I conceived the idea of running for Federal House of Representatives in 2023. This I believe will help to enhance our template of influencing the lives of our people”, Hon. Gbenga stressed.

He added that, “This year edition of our annual empowerment is designed to give food item (bags of rice) to average citizens across Ifelodun, Oyun and Offa local governments to mark celebration of new year anniversary.”

The empowerment program which play host to traditional rulers and political stalwarts which include: Alatanda of Atanda land, Oba Abdulwahab Abiodun Opeyemi; Alatiran of Atiran land, Oba Isa Aremu Olaleye; Prof. J. B. Lawal; Prof. Ife Abodunrin.

Others are Pst Oluwatoyin Alabi; Dr. David O. Olayemi; Pst. Akinsanya Abiodun; Oyeleke Olountoba; Ogbeni Timothy Oyedeji and APC stalwart, Muhammed Shilo.
