The Kwara state All Progressives Congress (APC) has said President Muhammadu Buhari would have to come back for project commissioning in the State, noting that his coming next Tuesday is only to flag off presidential campaign in Kwara.
The party said this in a statement by the Kwara APC campaign spokesperson, Oyeyemi Olasumbo Florence reacting to the opposition People’s Democratic Party which raised alarm over the rushing of some ongoing projects by the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led Kwara state government, which the party said the Governor wants to use to deceive Buhari during his visit.
The PDP had mocked the APC government for its inability to complete any significant project since AbdulRazaq was elected into office in 2019. The statement by the APC appeared to be an admittance that there is truly no project ready for commissioning when the President visits on Tuesday.
Although the APC did not state in clear term that it did not have any project to commission, it however said the opposition PDP will definitely cry out its heart by an unknown next month when the President is billed to be in the state to commission some legacy projects executed by Gov. AbdulRazaq.
“President Buhari is coming next Tuesday to just flag off the presidential campaign in Kwara State, while a different date will be announced for grand commissioning of different impactful projects such as the largest Intensive Care Unit facility in North Central which is the first functional ICU facility in the state.”
