KWHA: ASKOMP Congratulates Member-Elect, Rukayat-Shittu, hails Dunmoye’s Resilience

The Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP) has congratulated the member-elect of Owode/Onire Constituency in Kwara State House of Assembly, Rukayat Gbemisola Shittu on her victory during March 18 election.

ASKOMP in a statement issued on Sunday by its Chairman, Salihu Shola Taofeek describes Rukayat Shittu as a dutiful Journalist with Just Event Online before joining House of Assembly race on All Progressives Congress platform.

The Umbrella body for Professional Online Journalists in Kwara while congratulating 26 year old Mass Communication graduates, notes that her victory is a motivation to the youth constituency and ASKOMP as a body.

ASKOMP urges her to be a good ambassador of the Youth Constituency and wishes the Assembly Member-elect successful and impactful tenure.

Similarly, the Association hailed the Publisher of 360Vibes, Dunmoye Ayobami Yahaya for daring to contest in the just concluded election.

Dunmoye Ayobami Yahaya contested for Kwara Assembly seat of Eji/Lanwa Constituency as Labour Party flagbearer.

ASKOMP Implores Dunmoye not to be discouraged by outcome of his election, saying his participation would encourage more youth to play active role the political process.


Ibrahim Sheriff is the Editor of Fresh Insight and former Special Assistant on Media to the Speaker, Kwara state House of Assembly. Although a management science researcher by training, he has over five years experience of practice in Journalism, Public Relations and Communication Strategy. Sheriff holds a Masters Degree in Finance and Bachelors Degree in Banking and Finance from Kwara state University, Malete. He has Certificates in Digital Journalism, Enterprise Creation and Skill Acquisition (ECSA) and Basic Econometrics Data Analysis, as well as Bank of Industry (BoI) Certificate in Business Management. He is also a holder of Diploma in Cooperative Studies from Kwara state Polytechnic, Ilorin.
