KWASIEC Chair, Okanla Inducted into CILGPAN

The Chairman of the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWSIEC), Mr. Okanla Baba, MPA, MNIM,MCPA,TRCN, DPMIS was on Saturday, inducted into the Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administration of Nigeria (CILGPAN).

The Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administration of Nigeria is a renowned professional body that aims to enhance the capacity and professionalism of individuals engaged in local government and public administration in Nigeria. Induction into this esteemed institution demonstrates Okanla’s commitment to continuous professional development and upholding the highest standards of ethics and competence in the discharge of his duties as the head of a State LG electoral umpire.

Okanla’s membership of CILGPAN, avails him access to a wide range of resources, networks, and training opportunities provided by the institute. These opportunities are specifically designed to equip public administrators and local government officials, and indeed its electoral umpire like KWSIEC, with the necessary skills, knowledge, and best practices to excel in their roles.

Speaking on the sideline of the event, Okanla said the need to stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in local government and public administration cannot be overemphasized as he believes it would enable him to effectively lead the electoral commission and contribute to the improvement of the electoral process in Kwara State.

The induction of Okanla, who has been a member of Teacher Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) since 2006, and Member of Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM -Chartered) since year 2015, into the CILGPAN signifies his dedication to improving his expertise and professionalism in electoral administration in Kwara state.
