The Kwara State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Sunday Adeniran Fagbemi, has reacted to the lawsuit filed to stop the conduct of the forthcoming local government election in the state by the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking in Igbaja during the grand finale of the Ifelodun Local Government election campaign, Fagbemi described the opposition party as “the greatest anti-masses assemblage in the annals of Kwara State.”
“We’re glad God has favoured us and answered our prayers because we’re on the side of truth. The verdict allowing the local government elections is a major victory for our party, the APC.
“The outcome of the frivolous court case has once again vindicated us and confirmed the stand of our party as the only party in alignment with the people and always considering the masses’ yearnings and aspirations.”
“I commend all members of the APC for keeping faith with the judiciary to do justice, and that’s why we continued our campaigns undeterred because we knew justice and truth would eventually prevail.”
“The best way to celebrate this victory is for all Kwarans to troop out en masse on Saturday, September 21st, to celebrate this sweet verdict from the judiciary,” he added.
Speaking in the same vein, Member representing Omupo Constituency at the House of Assembly, Hon. AGF Salaudeen, described the court judgment as a vindication of the State Assembly, stressing that the Assembly will always prioritize the interest of Kwarans above primordial sentiments.
“Today is a special day; you elected me to go and represent you at the State House of Assembly. It was at that Assembly that the local government election processes commenced.”
“We amended the KWSIEC law to smoothen the process. Ironically, the party that has been exhibiting false and deceitful fake cry on behalf of the LGs has now been exposed.”
“Now, God has exposed the true enemy of the local government. God used the frivolous court case to showcase the hypocrisy of the disjointed opposition party in the State.”
“Until KWSIEC officially kick-started the process of conducting the local government elections, they’ve been falsely positioning themselves as the number one advocate. But now, their hypocrisy is exposed.”
“They made a 360-degree U-turn by cowardly running to the Court on frivolous grounds, having realized their impending landslide defeat across the 16 local governments. They tried using the court case as an alibi for their obvious impending overwhelming failure come next Saturday.”
The party’s Chairmanship candidate in Ifelodun Local Government, popularly known as Kotokotokoto, appreciated the party faithfuls, indigenes, and residents of Ifelodun LG for the show of love and support throughout his campaign tour.
He stressed that he has interacted with all and sundry, documented the priorities of each community, adding that he’ll hit the ground running from his first day in office.
He, however, enjoined all lovers of a united Ifelodun to not get carried away with the euphoria of the campaigns but rather double their mobilization zeal to ensure the mammoth crowd that graced the campaign is translated into unprecedented votes on election day.
