Alh. Attahiru Adamu Manko has thrown his weight behind the agitation for the zoning of the 2027 gubernatorial seat to Kwara North, stressing that it is the best way to further solidify the love and peace of the State.
Manko made this disclosure in a media parley with members of the Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP) in Ilorin, Kwara State.
The Pategi born politician who contested for the 2023 Kwara North Senatorial seat on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), recently defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Pategi born businessman turned politician described the zoning agitation as not intended to spite or attack any other Senatorial District, adding that it’s rather intended, to further cement the brotherliness and love across the Senatorial District through equity, fairness and justice.
He said “The agitation for the zoning of the gubernatorial seat to Kwara North is a well grounded, Kwara North is deserving of producing the next Governor of the State and the entirety of Kwara Northerners are serious and dedicated to the agitation.
“We’ll lobby, negotiate and make our brothers in Kwara Central and South see reasons why we should be supported to produce the next Governor.
“The issues of Kwara North not being United is a myth, that is farther from the truth, everybody in Kwara North both the political and apolitical, traditional and religious leaders and indeed all and sundry have keyed into the Kwara North gubernatorial push come 2027.
“We’re coming up with a united front, we’re definitely not fighting anybody from the 2 other Senatorial Districts, rather we’re preaching justice, fairness and equity, to further solidify the camaraderie in the State” he added.
On his next political move as 2027 approaches, he says “There has been speculations that I am coming to the APC to contest the gubernatorial seat, that’s absolutely false.
“I will Insha Allah be contesting for the Senatorial seat again. Interesting its been zoned to my place and I believe I stand a better chance, to combine the platform with my foundation and other personal contacts to further improve on the livelihood of our people in all ramifications
