Kogi 2023: Dino emerges PDP guber candidate, to wrestle Ododo, others for Lugard House

Senator Dino Melaye has emerged winner of the main opposition- Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) primary election for 2023 Kogi governorship election.

The former legislator, who served as spokesperson of the Atiku Abubakar 2023 presidential campaign will wrestle against Alhaji Usman Ododo, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other party’s candidates during November 11 election, for the occupancy of Kogi government house popularly known as Lugard house, Lokoja.

Melaye, a two term Senator and one term House of Representatives member defeated Engr Musa Wada and other aspirants during PDP Primaries in Lokoja on Sunday.

He polled 313 votes while Ilona had 124 votes. Hon Kabiru  garnered 121 votes while former Deputy Governor, Awoniyi scored 77 votes and the PDP governorship candidate in 2019 Engr Musa Wada had a total of  56 votes.

It could be recalled that Fresh Insight earlier reported that 41years old Ododo emerges as APC gubernatorial candidate in Kogi state.
