The Chairman Board of Trustees of Sobi 101.9 FM, Mal. Lukman Olayiwola Mustapha has donated relief materials worth over ₦10million Naira to victims of recent rainstorm in Kwara state capital, Ilorin.
While handing the relief materials which consists bundles of roofing sheets and packets of nails over to owners of some of the households within the Ilorin metropolis affected by the rainstorm, Lukman Mustapha who was represented by Mr. AbdulRahman Bolaji Aare expressed grief over the incidence and advised strongly against deforestation to avert possibility of future occurrence of such natural disaster.
“I was saddened by the magnitude of havoc caused by the recent rainstorm in Ilorin, the pictures I saw were so terrible and I feel we must support our people to overcome the devastating implications of the disaster on their socioeconomic wellbeing, and that is why we are offering our widow’s mite to cushion its effects”, he said.
“I want to call on all Kwarans to ensure we imbibe the culture of tree planting as an antidote to future possibility of rainstorm and ensure our drainages are always clean to prevent flooding and also preserve our environment and guarantee a healthy living”, Mustapha added.
Representatives of different communities that benefitted from Mustapha’s gesture in their separate remarks expressed gratitude to him for always rising to the need of the people through his exceptional philanthropy at all time.
Compounds and communities that benefitted from includes Esinrogunjo compound and Kaa Ogbomosho in Adewole ward, Ile Ajia, Ile Tidibodo, Ile Alfa Toto, Ile Olodo, Ile Elekulu, Ile Okuta Agidi, Ile Alada, Ile Yunusa Alfa Yahaya, Pakata Community in Ubadawaki Ward, Ilorin West local government.
Others include Ita Egba Community and Aberi’s family House. in Alanamu Ward, Ile Asaada; Ile Magaji Asaada, Ile Imam Asaada and Ile Asaada Isale all in Popo Giwa; Ile Dande, Ile Edaokun, Ile Alikinla, Ile Akata all in Ita Ogunbo.
Also captured are Oloje Community in Ilorin West, Balogun Fulani Ward 1, Asude family House in Ibagun Ward, and Popo Igbonna Community, Magaji Aare Ward in Ilorin East.
