Governor Abdulraman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State has forwarded the name of Rahmat Remi Sulaiman to the state House of Assembly for screening and confirmation as Auditor General for Local Governments Audit.
Governor Abdulrazaq’s request for confirmation of appointment was contained in a letter addressed to the Speaker, Engineer Yakubu Danlad-Salihu and read on the of floor of the House.
Similarly, in a separate letter, the governor sent an Executive Bill to create database for planning in the state titled ” Kwara State Registration Bill” twenty twenty for consideration and passage.
The Speaker Engineer Yakubu Danlad-Salihu therefore referred the bill to House Committee on Rules and business to slate the bill first reading.
The Speaker also announced that the screening of the Auditor General for Local Governments, Rahmat Remi Sulaiman would be announced later.
In another development, a bill for a law to establish Kwara State Drug Revolving Scheme Agency and Other Connected Matters today passed through second reading.
The Speaker, Engineer Yakubu Danlad-Salihu referred the bill to House Committee on Ethics and Privileges to conduct a Public Hearing on the bill.
Meanwhile, the State Coordinator, Special Public Work Scheme of the federal government, Segun Oyewo refused to appear before the House today as the House vowed to invoke its legislative powers to coerce him if he fails to show up in the next legislative sitting.
