Gov. Abdulrahman slashes 2020 budget by #47.5b, as Assembly schedules special sitting tomorrow

The Governor of Kwara State Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has submitted a revised 2020 budget of one hundred and fourteen point nine billion naira to the state house of assembly for consideration and approval.

This was contained in a letter from the governor addressed to the Speaker, Honourable Yakubu Danladi-Salihu and read on the floor of the House, which was a decrease against the twenty twenty estimate of one hundred and sixty two point four billion naira.

In the letter from the governor, revised capital estimate initially approved by the parliament was eighty nine point four billion naira now stands at forty six point nine billion naira representing forty seven percent reduction.

The revised capital expenditure, recurrent debt and recurrent non debt are five point one billion naira and sixty two point six six billion naira respectively.

The Speaker of the House Honourable Yakubu Danladi-Salihu thereafter referred the revised twenty twenty estimate to the House Committee on Rules and Business for further legislative action.
