‘Go ahead with your threat’, The Informant247 dares Kwara Poly Mgt

The Informant247 has challenged the management of the Kwara State Polytechnic to go ahead with its threat if the institution feels it has been defamed.

The online newspaper added that it has all necessary evidence intact to defend all facts contained in its investigative report.

The news medium while expressing disappointment in the management of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, for their failure to acknowledge the glaring facts presented in its report and to offer a public apology for their deceit, negligence and incompetency, noted that the medium’s reporters, like others in our newsroom, conducted thorough research before publishing the story.

“Indeed, the appropriate authorities were contacted for comments during the course of preparing the report, but they deliberately withheld their reactions, despite making repeated efforts for over 3-week.

“To our surprise, after the publication of the story, the institution, in a statement released by its Public Relations Officer, Halimat Garba resorted to deceit and distortion of facts. This false assertion aims to mislead the public”, a statement by the Informat247 partly read.

While pointing out anomalies in the institutions’ rejoinder, the medium also challenged the polytechnic management to publish its financial statements for the years in contention, and further dared the polytechnic management to carry out its threat of legal action if they feel unduly injured by its reports.

As the fourth estate of the realm, Informant247 assured of its commitment to producing accurate, balanced and objective reports aimed at societal development, adding that anything short of that will never be its hallmark.
