If information reaching Fresh Insight is anything to go by, then the plot to get Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa popularly known as BOB, Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC), Kwara State chapter is far from over Fresh Insight has gathered.

The last documented attempt until now, to remove Hon. Bolarinwa was on the 5th of November, 2020, at Kwara Hotels, Ilorin, venue of a botched stakeholders meeting summoned by the leader of the party in the State, Gov. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq with all warring factions in attendance.

It would be recalled numerous unsuccessful attempts had been made at removing the Bolarinwa as the party’s Chair by loyalists of Governor, Abdulraman Abdulrazaq who boast of the party’s State Secretary – Alh. Mustapha Isowo, Deputy Chairman – Alh. Sanmari, Kwara Central Senatorial Chair – Hon. Lateef Alakawa, PRO – Hon. Folaranmi Aro among others.

It would further be recalled, BOB was sworn-in on 11th December as caretaker Chairman of Kwara APC, after the dissolution of all APC executives nationwide by the Buni led caretaker National Working Committee in Abuja. Which in-turn administered oath of office on all his dissolved excos Statewide on the 14th December 2020, all in caretaker capacity.

While analysts had rumoured cessation of hostilities after the dissolution of the duly elected executives, fresh facts reaching Fresh Insight confirms otherwise.
Speaking with this medium on a condition of anonymity, a prominent face among the Governor Abdulrazaq support groups confided in this medium while craving anonymity, that “moves have reached advanced stages to address a press conference, announcing the suspension of BOB as the party’s Chairman.

“Before this new week runs out, we will be suspending BOB from piloting the affairs of the party, pending the outcome of investigation into his stewardship” he added

Speaking further on the impending suspension, a loyalist of Bolarinwa who craved anonymity for fear of a backlash, as he wasn’t authorised to speak to the media on the development, confirmed knowledge of the new move to oust BOB.

He said “We’re aware of renewed attempts to declare a minority faction which is aimed at giving life to the ongoing intense lobbying to rescind the appointment and inauguration of Hon. Bolarinwa as caretaker Chair.

” Some loyalists of the Governor are presently in Abuja, doing everything humanly possible to frustrate the smooth running of the party, I learnt they’re running from pillar to post to ensure BOB is replaced.

“To give life to the lies they’ve been bandying around Abuja, they plan to address the press announcing BOB’s suspension which will later be commuted to outright removal from office.

“The BOB camp are however unperturbed, even though we’re not leaving anything to chances. We’re rest assured APC is a party of the people, with very strong and intimidating progressives credentials, so I can assured you the latest plot will also fail, like those before it”, he boasted.

All attempts to reach the Chairman of the party proved abortive as at the time of filing this report as numerous calls put across to him were unanswered nor text messages responded to.
