With the official announcement of 5 more people in Kwara testing positive to corona virus, Fresh Insight can exclusive relay insight into the details of the new patients.
According to multiple sources, the results which came in earlier today returned 5 positive verdicts and some others coming out negative.
“All the 5 new cases contacted the virus locally which we refer to as community transfer as they had no recent foreign trips, but had contacts with either confirmed or suspected covid 19 patients and that was why they were tested in the first place.
“The 5 new cases are all caregivers and workers at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Ilorin Kwara State” he stressed.
Giving Fresh Insight TV further breakdown, he said “We have 4 Doctors and a Nurse who were all infected while attending to suspected carriers as health workers”, now another round of contact tracing have begun while wee await more tests tomorrow” he stressed.
With this new tally, it brings the number of confirmed positive cases in Kwara to 9, while 2 had fully recovered and discharged.
A total number of 128 people have so far been tested out if which 87 returned negative, 32 results are still being awaited as at the time of filing this report.
