Covid 19: Kwara schools to resume next month

 

The Kwara State Government has announced the reopening of all schools in the State next month.
This much was made known to the public via press release signed by the State’s Commissioner for Communication, Herriet Afolabi-Oshatimehin, she however emphasized that the fight against covid 19 isn’t won yet.
She said “After we have held various trainings for teachers on how to protect themselves and students from the COVID-19 infection and ensured improved manpower in monitoring and case tracings, we hereby direct the reopening of primary and secondary schools from October 5, 2020.
” Similarly, state-owned tertiary institutions are to reopen from October 12 or as may be determined by their respective governance structures.
“COVID-19 is still with us. We urge school authorities to ensure that all safety protocols are adhered to, including physical distance, use of face masks, and constant washing of hands with soap and water, in order to flatten the curve of transmission of the virus. We will continue to do our best to keep our people safe at all times” she added.
