Court Case: Informant247 Alleges Kwara Polytechnic Mgt of Delay Tactics, Attempt to Conceal Corruption

The management of Kwara State Polytechnic has been accused of employing delay tactics in a court case involving allegations of corruption exposed by The Informant247, a Kwara based investigative media outlet, despite multiple hearings at the Polytechnic management behest, the prosecution has failed to present convincing evidence, leading to accusations of attempted cover-up.

The polytechnic’s Rector, Engr. Dr. Abdul Jimoh had dragged The Informant247’s Editor-in-Chief, Salihu Ayatullahi, and Managing Director, Azeez Adisa Jaji, to court over a report exposing alleged financial mismanagement and corruption at the institution.

However, the prosecution’s case has been marked by inconsistencies and excuses.

At the sixth hearing, the prosecutor claimed they could not mobilize witnesses and documents due to a lack of fuel for their vehicle, prompting the court to adjourn the case once again.

A development that has raised suspicions that the polytechnic’s management is trying to conceal the truth and avoid accountability.

The Informant247’s publisher, Salihu Shola Taofeek, has challenged the Rector to release necessary documents to substantiate the charges and prove their case in court.

“We are ready to provide every piece of evidence to back our claim of the shoddy and uncompleted job commissioned by the Rector. We will not be intimidated or silenced in our pursuit of truth and transparency”, Salihu said.

The case has sparked concerns about the abuse of power and the need for accountability in public institutions.

As the judicial battle continues, Kwarans and Nigerians are watching to see if justice will prevail and if those responsible for corruption will be held accountable.
