Haashim Initiative for Community Advancement (HICA) has announced opening of camp for the first batch of Fellows of the Countryside Emerging Leadership Fellowship (CELF) slated for December 1-14, 2020.
According to a press release signed by its secretary, the organisers while appreciating donors and partners who had already keyed in to the programme, solicited for more supports, towards achieving the aims of bridging the opportunity gap of the less privileged students.
The release reads “We would like to thank donors and sponsors, both individual and corporate, who have supported us to deliver on the vision of CELF. We also plead for more support to enable us deliver the maiden edition of this inspiring human development project in accordance with best global standard.
“The camp which was earlier postponed due to the ongoing National Examination Council (NECO) examination
“The objective is to groom informed youths who are non-urban settlers to have sufficient exposure and training which would afford them the opportunity to contribute to the development of rural communities.
“While on camp, Fellows will have the opportunity to hone their team building skills as they will be made to cooperate to deliver on assigned tasks. They will also receive mentoring from inspiring individuals, learn the rudiments of community development, social habits, among others.
“Other arrangements for the camping exercise, including medicals, facilitators and resource persons would be communicated in due course” he added
