Breaking: NANS: Prince Miaphen Disqualified, over Discrepancies in 15 years Academic records

The Convention Planning Committee of the fast approaching National Convention of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) have finally disqualified Miaphen Prince Celsus, one of the leading Presidential Aspirants over discrepancies about his student status, Fresh Insight have reliably gathered.

According to documents exclusively received by this medium, Miaphen gained Post-graduate admission to study Law and Diplomacy at the University of Jos, in the 2010/2011 Academic session, curiously, 15 years after he’s relying on same admission to pursue his aspiration, claiming he’s yet to complete the 18 months programme and possesses no document offering satisfactory explanation.

According to sources who craved anonymity while reacting to the appeal filed by Miaphen over his disqualification, he said “The NANS Screening Appeal Committee has conducted a thorough investigation into his eligibility status for the forthcoming NANS convention.

“As per the NANS Constitution, Article 15, Subsection 2, postgraduate students seeking elective positions must have at least a semester of academic record, among other requirements.

“Miaphen’s initial disqualification was based on uncompleted documentation and expired admission. However, further review revealed the following:

“His admission into the University of Jos was granted in the 2010/2011 academic session, which marks approximately 15 years from the present date.

“The second letter he provided from the University of Jos, which claims to authenticate his studentship, contradicts the letter of approval for purported reactivation application.

“The approval letter indicates that he applied for reactivation only on 13th February 2025, meaning he neither had an active admission nor applied for reactivation at the time of obtaining the nomination form.

“The purported approval of his reactivation was also subject to the caveat of payment of all outstanding fees.

“However, proof of payment, which was a foundational prerequisite to his purported new studentship wasn’t to his appeal.

“Based on the above findings, the Screening Appeal Committee upheld his disqualification, as he does not meet the eligibility requirements set by the NANS Constitution. Therefore, his candidacy remains invalid” he concluded.
