Breaking: Kwara’s Ramat Cup contingent stranded on dreaded Kaduna/Abuja highway

No fewer than 32 Kwara contingent to the Ramat cup holding in Kano, Kano State are stranded along the dreaded Kaduna – Abuja expressway, the kidnap and banditry safe haven in the Country, Fresh Insight can exclusively report.

This much was disclosed to this medium by an impeccable source who craved anonymity as he wasn’t authorized to speak to press.

It would be recalled the Kwara Football Academy contingent had been in Kano since last weekend, representing the State at the annual Ramat Cup.

It would be recalled the team who although topped group B with 8 points were knocked out in the Quarter Finals by Kano State’s contingent, losing 2 – 0 game played at Sani Abacha stadium, Sabo gari, Kano State yesterday (Thursday).

According to the source “The team that left Kano around 4am this morning are still battling with the rickety KFA bus that is faulty at the moment.

” The team suffered the same fate when travelling for the tournament last week after spending 32hours before getting to Kano last Saturday.

“As at 8:30pm, no help seem in sight as the team is currently stranded along Kaduna-Kano expressway” the source added.

Attempt to speak with the team’s adminstrator Ibrahim Bako who according to sources had abandoned the team for the past 6 hours proved abortive as numerous calls to his mobile line were unsuccessful.

In the same vein attempts to get reaction from Chairman, Kwara State Sport Commission, Bola Mogaji proved abortive as multiple calls put across his mobile line were neither answered nor text message unreturned as at the time of filing this report.
