The National Working Committee of the APC has denied sacking the caretaker committee Chairman of the party in Kwara State, as against rumour circulating in a section of the media.
It would be recalled a letter appointing Alh. Abdullah Samari purportedly issued by the Buni led national caretaker committee had been circulating on the Kwara social media space since yesterday.
The purported letter of appointment which carries the signature of Sen. John James Akpanudoedehe, the caretaker National Secretary and dated January 4th 2021 reads “Pls kindly be notified that following the allegations of anti-party leveled against the erstwhile Chairman of the party in Kwara State and his purported suspension by his erstwhile executives, the National Chairman caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee has directed that I convey to you, the approval of the CECPC of your appointment as the Chairman, caretaker committee of our party in Kwara State, pending the outcome of investigation into the matter.
“By this appointment, you are to superintend over the affairs of the party in Kwara State forthwith” it reads.
However speaking exclusively with Fresh Insight on the phone, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr. Yekini Nabena, denies knowledge of the sacking of the Kwara State Chairman, affirming that at no time did they seat to take a decision on the Kwara APC crisis after the dissolution December 8th and inauguration of caretakers as ordered by NEC on December 11th 2020.
He said “I am not aware of any such move, at no time did we seat and take such a decision, so I want to believe anybody laying claim to the Chairmanship other than the inaugurated Chairman in Abuja is at best an impostor” he confirmed.
