You Cannot Gag Press To Silence, ASKOMP Cautions Kwara Police Commissioner

The Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP) has cautioned the Kwara Police Command Commissioner, CP Olaiya against gagging the press to favor his friend, Engr. Abdul Jimoh Muhammed of Kwara State Polytechnic.

ASKOMP in a statement issued on Tuesday by its Secretary, Oyewale Oyelola described attempt to detain two journalists with Informant247; Adiza-Jaji Azeez and Salihu Ayatullahi despite receiving fundamental right enforcement by competent court.

ASKOMP while acknowledging the professionalism displayed by Inspector General of Police during stay as Kwara CP, urged CP Olaiya to dent his image in an attempt to kill ongoing investigation in Kwara State Polytechnic.

The Association insists that Police as law enforcement agency should comply with the law and allow warring parties to meet in court.
