In a significant show of unity and loyalty, stakeholders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ilorin East local government have unanimously directed all prospective aspirants for upcoming elections in 2027 to seek the endorsement and blessing of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. The call was made during a pivotal stakeholders’ meeting held at the Ilorin East APC secretariat in Sabo-Oke.
Addressing the gathering, senior adviser and counselor to the governor, Alh Saadu Salahu, emphasized the governor’s deep connection with Ilorin East, highlighting the substantial development and appointments that have benefited the area. “Governor AbdulRazaq holds Ilorin East close to his heart,” Salahu stated. “The progress we see today—rural and urban development, key appointments, and infrastructural projects—are unparalleled. We are committed to supporting him in 2027 and beyond.”
The stakeholders unanimously agreed that the 2027 elections should serve as a reward for the governor’s relentless support. They urged all aspirants to seek the governor’s blessing before declaring their interests, asserting that such unity and respect for the leader’s endorsement are crucial for electoral success.
Hon. Lukman Garba Agbelere, chairman of Ilorin East Local Government, expressed confidence in the peaceful and cohesive nature of APC in the area. “Ilorin East has never experienced this level of support and development under any administration; it is a testament to Governor AbdulRazaq’s impactful leadership,” he said. “We are awaiting his guidance on the way forward for the 2027 elections.”
The APC chairman, Hon. Habeeb Ajibola Lawal, called for internal unity among party members, emphasizing that the upcoming election is an opportunity to reciprocate the governor’s goodwill. Similarly, Dr Afeez Abolore, the Commissioner for Agriculture, underscored AbdulRazaq’s role as a unifier within the party.
Notable dignitaries, including Alhaji Usman Bibire Ajape, Alhaja Kubura Kasum, and others, reiterated support for the governor, praising his infrastructural achievements and efforts to foster political harmony. They also called on all aspirants to align with the governor’s vision, stressing that allegiance and endorsement from AbdulRazaq are vital for electoral success in Kwara State.
The gathering concluded with a collective pledge to support the governor’s leadership and to ensure that the 2027 general elections reflect gratitude for his developmental strides and unwavering support for Ilorin East.
