The outcomes of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara state has led to attacks of some party stalwarts and candidate and destruction of properties across the State, Fresh Insight can report.
According to Fresh Insight’s investigation, no fewer than three (3) APC local government Chairmen, including that of Ilorin West, Ilorin East and Oyun have so far been attacked by political thugs.
Fresh Insight gathered that Mr. Kamal Akanbi, Oyun local government APC Chairman was attacked on his way from Ilemona on Thursday 26th May – day after the party’s House of Assembly primaries alongside a Party loyalist from Ipe Ward, identified as ‘Witiwiti’.

Both Akanbi and Witiwiti were beaten blue black, leaving them with varying degree of injuries, according to an eye witness.
In a related development, on Saturday May 29th, following the House of Representatives primaries, Erin-Ile residence of Alh. Tajudeen Abioye who emerged House of Representatives candidate for Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency was also attacked by hoodlums.
Abioye’s home was reportedly attacked by a group was of hoodlums led by a leader of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Oyun local government.
Fresh Insight was told that Abioye’s residence attackers met his absence but his family members were home. It however took the intervention of soldiers that repel the attack.
Fresh Insight also gathered that Mr. Habeeb Lawal, the APC Chairman for Ilorin East local government was equally attacked at Geri Alimi road, day after the Party’s senatorial primaries.
According to impeccable party source, Lawal was reportedly ambushed while exiting Ilorin to Lagos by unknown hoodlums, who broke his car windscreen, assaulted and battered.
The home and office of Ilorin West APC Chairman, Mr. Wasiu Tejidini was also reportedly attacked by unknown hoodlums.
According to sources within the Party, Tejidini’s office was earlier attacked and yesterday night again, his home was also attacked.
